THE WEEPING WILLOW

Brand identity

Florist, Paula Pryke OBE and architect husband, Peter Romaniuk, joined forces to give a 16th century Suffolk pub, The Weeping Willow in Barrow, a new lease of life. The final design of the pub and kitchen balances their desire to create Suffolk’s first ‘modern’ pub with the existing Grade 2 listed building and people’s expectations on what a country pub should look and feel like.

It was therefore essential to create a brand which set The Weeping Willow apart from others; a brand that has direction and aspiration, a place where not only locals come to drink and unwind, but also a destination kitchen serving dishes with Le Cordon Bleu elegance. The logo uses hand lettering to simulate the organic shapes and natural movement of a willow tree and its leaves, which in turn creates a soft and friendly brand character. This is followed through in the interior of the pub.
