One of the largest and most spectacular events in East Anglia was held in the magnificent interior of Ely Cathedral, which was transformed by tens of thousands of flowers, gloriously telling the story of The Creation.
As this festival was unique, there were no visual references to draw upon. Therefore, the theme – ‘In The Beginning’ – became the inspiration for the adaptive illustrations seen across the promotional pieces of design. This was achieved by overlaying a combination of old etchings, the cathedral crest, photographs of the cathedral and transparent floral shapes to represent The Creation: light, sky, land and vegetation, sun, moon and stars, and living creatures.
